Produce your own drinking water with the power of the sun !

Client: Island-, Resorts & Hotels and Residences
Date: 2013

What is it about?

DKNA represents a german technology company which turns sea water into drinking water via RO (Reverse Osmosis). This technology is powered either by wind-, or photovoltaic generated electricity. In todays world of growing electricity demands normal effects are electricity brown outs or even black outs. With no electricity to power regional drinking water factories or pumps, hotels are very vulnerable by suddenly being responsible to provide drinking water for several hundred guests. As an example serve the events in Koh Samui, Thailand in late 2012.

How can it benefit me?

With such a technology on site a hotel or resort can substantially reduce its dependance on external water supply. May it be tanker supplied or plastic bottled, water which is used as complimentary water in the guest room or sold in the restaurants. It further benefits a resort by reducing its kg waste per guest room as well as its carbon footprint. Such results can easily be merged with existing or future environmental certification objectives.

What are the costs?
